Happy Cinco De Mayo!

It’s a special day here at Francie Pants Central because not only is it Cinco de Mayo, but Taco Tuesday as well! We love Taco Tuesday! Our favorite place to dine on Taco Tuesdays is Taco Mesa, in Southern California. They always make our orders fresh and have a very kid friendly atmosphere in which to dine.

Today we are also digging these beautiful Puebla dresses from Aztec imports online. We’d love one in every color to wear with our Francie Pants!

WECARE to Remember Maddie

We were simply devastated this week to hear of the loss of Madeline Spohr, the spunky, spirited, and beautiful daughter of a blogging friend of ours, Heather Spohr. Even in pictures, Maddie’s personality plus shone through. We were captivated by her. There are no words to express the emotions, the tears we shed are falling into a communal sea of sadness, as Maddie’s story, and that of her parents, Mike and Heather, have touched so many. Maddie was a March of Dimes child, born premature, and helping to raise funds to help others like her.

We’d like to show the Spohr family, in some small way, that our thoughts are with them. They have requested that attendees and to Maddie’s celebration of life service next Tuesday wear purple, and though we cannot attend, we will be wearing purple that day as well. We’re also doing something else. Now through the 17th of April, with the coupon code WECARE we’re donating 100% of the proceeds of all Honolulu Lulu Francie Pants (the only ones with purple in them) to the Spohr family, to cover their expenses and do with as they wish. 15% of all other sales made using this coupon code will also go to support the Spohr family.

We strongly urge you to visit the March of Dimes website, and to consider supporting other children and families like Maddie’s. The March of Dimes was one of our selected charities for 2009, and we cannot think of a better time to make a contribution, than now, in memory of the brief but very touching life of Madeline Spohr.

APRIL FOOLS!!! In case you did not figure it out from our signature below, this post was an April Fools day joke. While we may someday make shorts for cartwheeling mamas, these are not in the works at this time!

We’ve decided that it’s not fair that we little girls get to have all the fun! Moms deserve to kick up their heels and turn cartwheels too. Which is why we are honoring our mommies with our new line of Francie Pants Privacy Shorts for expectant moms!

Where the Cool Moms Get Their Tips

Our Moms practically LIVE on the Cool Mom Picks site. It’s like a style bible for mod mothers. So imagine our complete sheer elation when Francie Pants were featured as a Cool Mom Pick! We had to share the post and link you all to this fantastic site. Just be warned moms, read it once and you’ll be addicted forever! Cool Mom Picks runs some fabulous contests and giveaways. There is always something excellent going on at this site.

How To Make A Wafflecheese Sandwich!

Here’s a fun sandwich that is easy to make with a little help from your mom. It’s one of our favorite playdate snacks. Marly’s mom likes to call these a “Poor Man’s Panini”

• Assemble your tools and ingredients. Bread, Butter, a Slice of Kraft Cheese and a Waffle Iron. Be sure the butter is nice and soft.
• Place cheese slice between two slices of bread. Butter the outside of the bread slices.
• Place sandwich in waffle iron (make sure you have adult help!) and smash it!
• Remove sandwich when cheese is melted and bread is toasty. Serve whole or cut into smaller squares

Francie Pants New Packaging is a Hit!

Our new packaging came out so adorable that our biggest problem seems to be keeping the boxes on the shelves! All our Francie Pants are now shipping in our custom packaging. This makes gift giving and boutique merchandising easy and fun. Each package includes a little bonus prize – a paper doll for you to play with.

Clothing for you to print out, color and design for your doll will be available soon on our site in the “Paper Doll Playhouse” Section of our site. We just couldn’t wait to show off our boxes. Check out the slideshow and tell us what you think!
